Beloved son Raymond “RJ” Sanders graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1995. He played baseball all four years, three on Varsity. In his senior year, he was named to the All PSL Conference 1st Team and the Suburban Life All Area 1st Team. He died tragically in a construction accident on October 3rd, 2001. RJ’s Aunt Rita and Uncle Bill started a golf outing in his memory, and each July this outing takes place to support “The RJ Sanders Memorial Scholarship” in his memory, benefitting young men with financial needs, with focus on baseball players. It has been funded each year since 2003. Our beautiful baseball field is dedicated to and named after him. May he rest in peace.
